Tips for applicants
Highlight your political experience
Paid, seasonal or volunteer — show it. Leaving it off your resume can lessen your chances of an interview or placement. Volunteer experience is still experience! There are always more applicants than open positions, and our team and clients sift through thousands of resumes, so don’t leave us guessing.
Be flexible on travel and relocation
Politics requires active, real-time involvement. For campaign and consulting roles, the ability to travel or relocate is crucial. We can only place people where the jobs are: a campaign’s location is fixed, and a firm that needs someone in person can’t rely on phone calls. Your flexibility can be the deciding factor.
Submit a professional, error-free resume
Keep it well structured, ideally one page, saved as a PDF, and free of typos. A clear, concise resume helps our team and clients assess your qualifications quickly.
“If the applicant can’t format a resume correctly, what else can’t they do?”
Stay engaged
Openings come and go quickly due to high demand. If you don’t land an interview or placement on your first try, don’t be disheartened — keep applying for future opportunities.
