Job Description:
✅ Remote or in person Washington, DC - Communications Intern This internship offers hands-on experience supporting media outreach and rapid response efforts focused on AI safety and technology policy. The intern will assist with publishing media coverage, blogs, and website content using SEO best practices, while also helping launch and contribute to the organization’s Substack. Responsibilities include conducting background research, preparing media briefing memos, and tracking daily news coverage related to AI and tech policy. The role also involves maintaining press contact lists in HubSpot and monitoring media inquiries from journalists. Interns will collaborate with the communications team on messaging, talking points, and strategic narratives shaping the public conversation around AI.
Roles/Duties:
- Support media outreach and rapid response efforts related to AI safety and tech policy
- Publish media hits, blogs, and website content using SEO best practices and assist with launching the organization’s Substack
- Conduct research and prepare media briefing memos while tracking daily AI and tech policy news coverage
- Assist with press contact management in HubSpot and contribute to messaging, talking points, and communications strategy
Job Requirements:
- Strong writing and research skills with attention to detail and tone
